symbianUnlike the rumors, Nokia was releasing phones with the latest revolutionary operating system called Symbian ^ 3, according to its promise. N8, the first Symbian phone ^3 was announced on Tuesday (27/04/2010), but will be available on the market in the third quarter of 2010. The price is at the 370 Euro range, or approximately USD 4.5 million.

Symbian ^3 platform represents the latest version of Nokia’s most popular artificial in the world today. The increase of the capability provided by this software is the ability of the sensor which is more sensitive, such as multi touch features, Flick scrolling, and pinches to zoom. The 2D architectural and the 3D graphics in it are designed to produce a responsive user interface. The memory management also improved.  Therefore it can smoothly perform multitasking.

On the Nokia N8, the presence of Symbian ^3 is supported by a 680 MHz high-speed processor with OpenGL 2.0 and 3.5-inch OLED touch screen. You can also count on its technical ability. It also equipped with 12-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and Xenon flash. The camera can be used to record HD quality video (high density) 720p and can be directly edited with software that has been included. Great audio quality also supports standard Dolby Digital Plus.

Another strengthen point which is become the power of the Nokia N8 is the direct access to the television web. Nokia N8 is supported by an application for watching web television broadcasts from CNN, Paramount, and National Geographic. Local television web broadcasts can also be obtained through the content which is available on the OVI Store.

In addition to the maximum multimedia experience, the Nokia N8 not leaves easy access to social networking. Status updating, positions and photos sharing, and monitoring messages on Facebook and Twitter lively can be done from a single application in front of the screen. Nokia N8 also has been equipped with Ovi Maps, navigational for pedestrians and vehicles.

One thing for sure, the Nokia N8 will become a products portfolio which is also marketed in Indonesia. According to the Regina Hutama, Corporate Communications Manager Nokia Indonesia, Nokia N8 just like in another country, is planned to be released in the third quarter of 2010.

HTC MagicHTC is becoming synonymous with Android. HTC is the world’s first Android phone released in 2008 and through HTC Dream. Now the Magic, HTC became the first release of Android phone in Indonesia.

From the HTC Dream, Magic inherited form of the panel is bent under the touch screen. Only, this curve is smoother. Similarly, the use of a resistive touch screen and trackball for navigation purposes. But the biggest difference is the Magic did not have a QWERTY keyboard so that the whole process input using the touch screen measuring 3.1 inches.

Overall, his appearance looks simple. There’s only port like a mini-USB-bottom and side volume keys on the left body. It should be noted, a mini USB port similar to that also functions as an audio plugs, so you can not use the 3.5 mm audio devices.

Like the iPhone, Magic uses resistive touch screen. As a result, the process of typing a type using the finger without the need for the stylus. But the screen does not support multitouch, so you can not zoom-in by pinching movements like the iPhone.

Like the gadget without a keyboard, writing SMS on the HTC Magic do need exercise. Fortunately, HTC provides a special feature of the vibration when we pressed a letter. At least, this makes us feel a little physical effect when typing SMS. But again, it takes time for us to get used to it.

Magic interface itself is simple and easy to use. As the main screen, available Home Screen with shortcuts to key applications such as browsers and Contacts. When the screen “swiped” to the left or right, a new screen will appear. By default, a blank screen while the left and right home screen includes a Google Search bar. As for seeing the entire application, you just push the arrow in the bottom.

Shortcut and widgets can be added or removed. To add, just push the menu button, push Add, and then push Shortcuts, Widgets or Folders.
